Nuendo 5 empowers professionals working in audio
post-production for the film, television and media industries to higher
levels of productivity, with a dedicated feature set that focuses on day-to-day
production requirements like workflow, speed, versatility and reliability.
Post-production editors, film mixers as well as live recording engineers
around the world rely on the flexibility and industry openness that Nuendo
provides. Not surprisingly, Nuendo is also widespread among companies
developing popular video games and agencies creating award-winning
commercials.
Integrated Toolset for ADR
Do away with expensive ADR hardware. Nuendo 5 boasts exceptional new
tools that simplify and expedite ADR workflow. The Nuendo 5 ADR toolset allows
you to spot and organize recording takes for multiple roles by using a flexible
marker track system that includes advanced filtering and sorting functions,
helping you to keep a clear overview, even over the largest ADR recording
projects.
Nuendo 5 also reads CMX 3600 and CSV formatted EDL lists to let
you set up and work with ADR sessions efficiently. The completely new
videoengine is based on QuickTime, providing more power, more precision and more
reliability to play back video in multiple formats.
Advanced Media Management
Implemented in Nuendo 5 is
the powerful media file management application MediaBay, sporting a graphically
reworked user interface to facilitate usability. The enhanced MediaBay Previewer
allows you to select a region of a sound event, which can then simply be dragged
into the project. Of course the file can be restored to its original length if
necessary. The MediaBay is also the right tool when it comes to file
organization on external hard drives for indexing and accessing tagged sound
libraries. This allows maximum flexibility for the sound editor, who can capture
a catalog database via indexing the library, containing all tags and metadata.
The new Nuendo 5 Clip Packages feature redefines the way audio files are
organized. Multiple audio files can individually be selected and saved as
convenient sound packages which may then be reused in other parts of the
project.
First-Class Mixing Experience
Nuendo 5 includes
superior mixer and automation enhancements that seamlessly integrate with your
personal workflow, raising productivity in audio post-production to new heights.
With its new routing capabilities, you can easily set up routing destinations
for multiple channels at a time. In addition, Nuendo 5 allows you to
switch these bus destinations on the fly, which is also automatable. These
new routing features provide an elegant way to create different mix versions of
your session in one go. And, if necessary, up and down mixing between different
channel formats is done fully automatically.
New Generation of Plug-Ins
Nuendo 5 comes with a host
of plug-ins based on Steinberg¡¯s unique VST3 technology. Its Surround Panner V5
offers convenient surround panning, one of the most challenging demands upon a
modern audio post-production system. On-off axis movements, 180¡Æ counter shots
and multiple adaptations of the surround field for exciting mixes in surround
have never been easier to create. Further Nuendo plug-ins in the VST3 format
including the brand-new Pitch Driver round out this overwhelming cast.
Made for Live Recording
Live engineers from all over
the world rely on Nuendo for its workflow, reliability and versatility. For rock
gigs, symphony orchestra concerts or TV live shows, Nuendo 5 always provides the
right tools for the right job, in any phase of the recording and production
process.
With a single key command, Nuendo 5 lets you set all recording tracks to
record-ready. The Lock Record function prevents an accidental disabling of the
record button while recording. The new Remaining Time Record Display provides an
instant overview of the remaining recording capacity available on your hard
drive. The new Project Backup Function in Nuendo 5 conveniently stores and
archives a hardcopy of your project — securing your valuable recordings all the
way.
